Background:
Jesus Christ has been adding to His church
since it began in Acts 2. We are
very simply an extension and part of that church, with Christ in full authority
and control. The Bible, specifically
the New Testament, being the inspired word of God, teaches us the organization,
setup, and order of the Church. The
scriptures also teach us how God wishes and expects to be worshipped by his
followers today.
What We Believe:
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and as
such, it is without error, and is the final and highest authority in life and
doctrine.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all
good works.
II Tim. 3:16-17
Worship:
Our worship is simple and sincere.
Our goal is to worship in both
spirit & truth (John
4:23-24)as God himself desires to be worshipped.
Everything we do comes straight from the examples that we find in the New
Testament. You are encouraged to
take part in the service as we together worship and praise our God in Heaven.
Singing:
Colossians
3:16; Ephesians 5:19
The singing, you
will notice, is done without the accompaniment of musical instruments.
This form of singing is called a-cappella singing.
We sing with our hearts as the Lord commands us in scripture.
Everyone is encouraged to participate and the singing is quite uplifting
and enjoyable for all.
Prayer:
I
Corinthians 14:15
Throughout the
service there are many prayers that will be led by various men.
Prayer is a time for us to communicate with our heavenly Father through
our Savior Jesus Christ. These
prayers are simple and come from the heart of the one who is leading the prayer.
The prayers are led by one man out loud while all others consider what is
being said and offer their own prayers up to God as well.
Teaching:
Acts 20:7
All of the teaching is biblical.
We simply speak where the Bible speaks and are silent where it is silent.
Men who speak do so one by one so that it is orderly and edifying to all
who are in the audience. The sermons
are designed to educate, uplift, motivate, and build up each person in the
audience. The Bible lies at the
center of all the teaching.
Communion:
I Cor. 11:
23; Acts 20:7
Every Sunday the communion service is
observed. As the Christians in the
New Testament practiced every first day of the week, we also perform this every
first day of the week. The bread is
passed which represents the body of Jesus Christ which was broken on the cross.
Then the fruit of the vine is passed which is the communion of Christ’s
blood that was shed on the cross for our sins.
This is a memorial that Jesus himself instituted with his disciples
before his death. It is important
that we observe this every Sunday because in doing so we show the Lord’s death
until he comes again.
Contribution:
I Cor. 16:1-3; II Cor. 9:6-7
On every Sunday we also collect the offering
of those who have laid by and stored as the Lord has prospered them.
This donation goes to the
work of the church and its ministry.
If you are visiting with us do not feel obligated to give.
We give cheerfully and of a loving heart which is described in the New
Testament.
The People:
We are simply a group of people of the same
mind and faith who are longing only to please God with our lives.
Everyone is very nice and encouraging,
and we enjoy a refreshing family atmosphere as brothers and sisters in
Christ. We share the attitude of
working together to help one another
to walk and remain faithful as true disciples of Jesus Christ.
